Ever have one of those days where you have so much on your plate that you don’t know where to start? I know the answer is to just pick a task and just start but I’m exhausted just thinking about all that needs to get done!
So today this is something I’m trying to combat this habit. It’s one of the things that bugs me the most. I know I should be doing x, y, and z but I just want to rest, after all it’s nap time! So how do I balance taking advantage to rest and taking advantage to get things done?
If I’m truly honest with myself, I won’t regret getting stuff done but I do often regret being lazy. I feel guilty when I know I could have completed more but instead I rested more. Now, hear me out, rest isn’t bad! However, I think I’d enjoy the end of my day more if I could rest because I had been productive.
Today I tried to implement the 5 second rule, as soon as I thought about updating my budget and paying off some of our debt I just reached for my computer and did it. The minute I thought about writing this blog I grabbed my computer and let the words flow!
I also like the snowball effect of productivity, as well as the nerdy joy I get when I can cross something off my list. So make your list and get going! Take rest without guilt by knowing you’re choosing to rest and not just resting because your list is overwhelming!
Procrastination is something I struggle with daily. It is a battle that I lose more than I win! However, I’m changing my story. I’m no longer a procrastinator. I’m going to choose the 5 second rule. Go make today great and experience the joy of crossing things off that list!
Great post! Followed! I looked up that 5 second rule and I thought about how crazy is it that we’re that close to making a potentially life changing decision and we decide not to. Your positivity is impressive though and I hope you keep it up! I recently made a post for anyone looking for motivation or a method that’ll make them more productive, could you take a look: https://mzukowskiblog.wordpress.com/2018/10/06/a-simple-weird-method-to-increase-your-productivity/
